I have a secret.
Can I tell you?
I sing really loudly but the truth is
I’m scared of stillness, stomachaches, and
whatever makes my faucet smell like eggs.
Here’s the thing.
The world is spinning faster than ever and we have a lot of work to do to spread compassion and knock knock jokes.
I love that my kids laugh so hard their nostrils flare while they fart.
I love those moments before dawn when everything creaks and the only color is coffee.
I love dreaming that I’m a back-up dancer for Neil Diamond.
And here’s some facts about my past, if it means anything to you:
I’ve performed with The Second City, ImprovOlympic, HBO and NPR. My memoir, Amen, Amen, Amen: Memoir of a Girl who Couldn’t Stop Praying got lots of awards and a nod from Oprah. I’ve also written two successful young adult books, pilots, screenplays, advertising copy, dirty puppet shows and raps about fire safety. My new book,
is out now and I hope you like it.
